Remembering the greatest

Yesterday was my grandfather's death anniversary and it made me remember how great he was, the best grandfather or "Lolo", in the vernacular. He was a father, a friend, a teacher, a philosopher, a lawyer, a boxer and a wrestling fan. He was different, eccentric to a point.  He was so different that his heart was located at the right of his chest and his stomach was inverted.

Basically, I learned to speak English from him, my grandfather, because he would not talk to us in the vernacular, which is Tagalog or Filipino. I am a dog lover because of him, which made me memorize almost all of the dog breeds that helped me when I opened a pet grooming shop a few years back.

I hope I had the same discipline that he had when it came to following what the doctor ordered. He was so good at it that he lived long enough to enjoy his great grandchildren.

I miss you Lolo! You’re the Greatest!
